Okahandja Country Lodge was the wedding venue choice of Ortrun and Martin. It is just a short drive from Windhoek. They picked the perfect autumn day to get married. Of course, as you do when you are in Namibia, they tied the knot under a large camelthorn tree. Kudos to the event planner for a truly natural and beautiful setup. All the décor looked amazing!
The day was brimming with some misty-eyed moments. Even though there was a curfew on the amount of people attending, many friends and close family members attended. This made the day pulsing with laughter and love. Nothing could put a damper on the festivities. There were lots of happy tears behind the scenes and in front of the camera.
Although the wedding day was the first time that we took photographs together, it was super fun. Martin and Ortrun were so relaxed and made my job easy to capture some truly beautiful images of them.
I have added a few highlights from their wedding. I know you will love these photos!

The Bride:
The Groom:
Martin and the boys got ready in very small room…! Somehow, we all managed to move around, and I took some great photos while the guys prepared themselves. Of course, as it should be, the guys organized a few Cuban cigars and superior quality whiskey.
The Ceremony:
Getting married under an old camelthorn tree… Not much more to say. It was idyllic. Oh, and yes, the groom and a number of the guests did shed a tear when Ortrun arrived. She looked beautiful and nothing could make Martin move his gaze from her!
Intimate Couple Session:
Okahandja Country Lodge is a photographer’s dream. With the electricity between Martin and Ortrun we did not have any issues getting great photos!
Reception:
The event organizers outdid themselves on this one. The setup, vibe, colours, and everything else just worked. Period. It did not take long for the formalities to end that the party started! What a great crowd!
