Nico and Bernice made the decision to wed in the early hours of the morning at Windhoek’s Christuskirche. Although they initially connected at a friend’s birthday party, it wasn’t until a few months later that Nico asked Bernice out for coffee that their relationship truly began.
I knew this was going to be a special day as soon as I met Nico and Bernice! It was obvious that a traditional evening wedding wasn’t their style given their informal, laid-back demeanour. They are two of my favourite couples because they both enjoy traveling and coffee. The couple decided against having a night of dancing and instead had a small, morning ceremony and lunch reception. This gave them the chance to really sit down, unwind, and engage in genuine conversation with each of their guests.
EARLY MORNING WEDDINGS
I have to say that I adored every single detail of the couple’s morning wedding. Every one of us, especially the bride and her bridesmaids, had to rise extremely early. The couple had the rest of the day to spend with all their friends and family at the wedding, so it was all worthwhile. Morning weddings are still relatively uncommon, so it’s always interesting to see how different couples interpret the concept. And how these two came to exchange vows at Namibia’s Christuskirche, one of the country’s most recognizable historical sites.
The bride chose pink and white roses combined with lots of lush greenery to maintain her simple elegance theme.
I have added a few highlights from their wedding. I know you will love these photos!
Nico survived an early morning house filled with smoke from groomsmen making breakfast! A whirlwind time to get ready for a morning wedding, but he pulled it off!
Morning weddings are my new favourite thing!
